It was an honor to ride for the United States National Team in Scotland. The BMX World Championships bring together the best riders from countries around the globe.
To wear the red, white, and blue, and represent the United States again on the biggest stage is a dream come true.
The level of riding at the contest was very high. I was only rider from the US team to make it to the semi-finals. Unfortunately two costly mistakes in my semi-final run landed a score just outside the top 10.
This was the first final I have missed in a competition since May 2001. It has been over 20+ years of making the final every single time. Kinda crazy when you think about that.
It was a great trip, despite all the rain, and I am looking forward to the next World Championships. I’ve competed against many of these riders for years, and in some cases decades. These guys are like an extended family to me, so win or lose, we all walk away promoting BMX and making the world a better place.
